tales
from the
iowa great
lakes

This has been one of our favorite episodes to work on this season. We're incredibly grateful to each of our guests who helped us re-tell this incredible story.

Since we know the story of Save the Park reached far beyond The Iowa Great Lakes, we wanted our blog to focus on how our community was processing each week of the campaign. We went back through the Dickinson County News archives and read the outstanding reporting by Doris Welle, Duane Winn, and Mindy Baker.

Take a look at the sections we've highlighted - but if you have time, you should read each of these articles. Sue said this in our interviews, but it was not always obvious that the park would be saved. Welle, Winn, and Baker capture the moment so perfectly. We'd also recommend watching the KCCI coverage of the infamous goal announcement.
